Andrey Enyashin

Dr. Andrey Enyashin, born inUSSR, obtained his BSc (2000), MSc (2002) at theUralStateUniversityin Ekaterinburg and received his PhD (2005) in Chemistry at the Ural State University of Technology (Ekaterinburg,Russia). He was awarded Bronze medal in '1nside Edge' International Thesis Competition from Samsung Electromechanics (South Korea). After a postdoc in the Theoretical Chemistry group of Prof. Gotthard Seifert at the Dresden University of Technology (Germany), he joined Laboratory of Quantum Chemistry and Spectroscopy at Institute of Solid State Chemistry of UB RAS in Ekaterinburg. Currently, he holds position of the leading scientific researcher.

Currently, the field of his interest is computational materials science of inorganic and carbon nanostructures. A special emphasis is given to recognition of the experimentally observed morphology of nanostructures or to the design of new nanostructures at atom-resolved level as well as consequent simulation of their electronic, mechanical, adhesion and chemical properties. A large part of his experience has been requested by the groups of experimentalists fromIsrael,Germany,Russia,Spainand PR China to support their observations or concepts. He was a fellow in the ERC-AdG INTIF project (2008-2013), a guest-scientist at theDonostiaInternationalPhysicsCenter(2008) and at the Weizmann Institute of Science (2010, 2011, 2015). As of 2017, Dr. Enyashin has co-authored more than 100 papers and reviews, 8 invited chapters in books and has prepared art for 7 cover pages.
