Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences Victor V. Gusarov is the head of new inorganic materials laboratory of Ioffe Institute and the founder and head of physico-chemical functional materials design department of St. Petersburg State Technological Institute (technical university) .

Victor Gusarov is the specialist in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology; solid state chemistry; inorganic materials science and technology; chemical thermodynamics; experimental and calculated construction of phase diagrams. He has authored more than 300 papers and 25 patents.
