Yakimansky Alexander

Yakimansky Alexander graduated in 1980 from the Chemical Faculty of Leningrad State University. He got the degree Candidate of Science (PhD) in Polymer Chemistry (1986) and degree of Doctor of Science (habilitation) in Polymer Chemistry (2001) at the Institute of Macromolecular Compounds (Russian Academy of Sciences). Since 2007, he leads the laboratory of polymer nanomaterials and compositions for optic media at this Institute. From 1993 to 2012, he was a visiting scientist at the Universities of Mainz, Bayreuth (Germany), Leuven (Belgium), Bordeaux (France). He is the author of more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His fields of interests include polymers with non-linear optical properties, photo- and electroluminescent polymers and metal-polymer complexes, polymerization mechanisms, controlled radical polymerization, polymer brushes and amphiphilic copolymers.
